Hammonasset Beach
A GRATITUDE DOOR & WALKWAY TO INSPIREÂ CONNECTION
For two summer seasons, I partnered with Hammonasset Beach State Park — Connecticut's most visited state park, welcoming more than two million visitors each year — to create interactive public art that invited people to pause, reflect, and connect.
Along the beach trail, visitors encountered a weather-resistant Gratitude Walkway featuring messages of appreciation collected through Look for the Good Project. At the heart of the installation stood a one-of-a-kind Gratitude Door, where families, friends, and visitors were invited to leave handwritten messages of hope, gratitude, and encouragement throughout the summer.
When the first season ended, the Gratitude Door found a permanent new home at Connecticut Valley Hospital, where it continues to inspire connection and healing within one of the state's largest psychiatric and addiction treatment facilities.
Marriott Vacation Club
LOOK FOR THE GOOD® SCAVENGER HUNT
I partnered with the team at Marriott's Ocean Pointe Resort in Palm Beach Shores, Florida, to create an interactive family experience that encouraged guests to slow down, explore the property, and notice the good around them.
Together, we designed a resort-wide scavenger hunt, featuring a trail of community-generated "glimmers of gladness" hidden throughout the grounds. Families were invited to discover uplifting messages, share moments of connection, and celebrate what they found at a permanent photo booth created especially for the resort. The resort welcomes approximately 18,000 families each year, and was very well received by guests.
A.B. Combs School
LOOK FOR THE GOOD® PLAYGROUND
In partnership with OPEN Physical Education Network and the NC American Heart Association, I helped transform the school playground into an interactive space that encouraged movement, gratitude, empathy, and kind choices. Simple playground stencils became daily reminders that character can be practiced one step at a time. This project led to a broader collaboration with Varsity Brands and OPEN Physical Education Network, where I helped develop content for OPEN's 2020 National Field Day alongside four-time Olympian Chaunté Lowe.
